Austin is often called the Live Music Capital of the World, so catching a live show is a must. Whether it’s at iconic venues like the Stubb’s BBQ or during music festivals like Austin City Limits (ACL), there’s always a vibrant music scene to explore.
Outside the city limits you can enjoy a day at the many breweries and distilleries in Dripping Springs. Or head north to explore charming Waco or the bustling Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Ann + Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail runs along the river and has some of my favorite city views.
BookPeople is one of my favorite places to go in Austin! It is a large, locally owned bookstore with with a coffee bar & gift items for sale.
If there's one thing Austin does well, it's the combo coffee and cocktail spots! One stop spots for morning coffee, lunch/dinner, and an evening cocktail.
The thing about Austin is they know how to put on a show. From SXSW, to ACL, to Formula 1 you will always have something to do
Austin hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including SXSW (South by Southwest) and the Austin Film Festival, attracting visitors from around the world.
Austin is a city of neighborhoods, each with its unique vibe. Locals enjoy hanging out in places like South Congress (SoCo), East Austin, or the Rainey Street Historic District, where they can grab a drink, browse shops, or people-watch.
With its warm climate and natural beauty, Austin offers plenty of outdoor activities. Locals enjoy hiking and biking on the trails around Lady Bird Lake, paddleboarding or kayaking on the lake itself, and swimming in Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring-fed pool that stays around 68-70°F (20-21°C) year-round.
