This extremely complex addition/renovation was completed in a series of five phases. Cleary Zimmermann provided the MEP services for this project. Major components for the project included a Blood Bank, Donor Center, Receiving/Processing, Chemistry/Hematology, Molecular Biology and Immune/Serology. To keep the laboratories in continuous service during the construction period, temporary labs were designed to facilitate the process. Design included fume hoods, laboratory gases, autoclaves, lighting and power, plumbing and fire sprinklers. Significant coordination was also required to route a chemical resistant pipe system in the existing space below the Pathology Lab. This project required control of postive and negative pressurization within the lab along with significant phasing during construction.
