Medical Education Training Command, Buildings I, II, III & IV

Medical Educational Training Command (METC) Medical Instructional Facility (MIF) Buildings 1 and 2 are each four story buildings used for classroom and laboratory medical training, as well as office space. Each building’s HVAC system consists of two central station air handler units located on the roofs, and each unit services half the building. All air handlers, boilers, chilled and hot water pumps are controlled through the building automation system, and each penthouse has a touch screen display on the main control panel which can stop and start its respective air handler.

Medical Educational Training Command (METC) Medical Instructional Facility (MIF) Buildings 3 and 4 are each four story buildings used for classroom and laboratory medical training, as well as interview rooms and office space. Building 3’s HVAC system consists of three identical central stair air handling units, and a fourth air handling unit to serve a group of small labs. In addition to classrooms, labs and office space, Building 4 includes a server room and large auditorium. This building’s HVAC system consists of four central station air handling units located on the roof which are split into two systems of paired units for the north and south sides of the building.

For Buildings 3 and 4, all air handlers, boilers, chilled and hot water pumps are controlled through the building automation system, and touch screen interfaces display operating information pertaining to air handler units, boilers and pumps. Additionally, maintenance personnel are able to monitor and adjust some setpoints for the HVAC systems for both buildings from one front end computer.
