Llano ISD Bond Improvements

Llano ISD
Llano, TX

The Llano ISD Bond Improvements were a group of significant upgrades funded by the 2013 bond to the MEP systems at all of the District’s campuses. Energy efficiency, occupant comfort and occupant safety were priorities throughout these improvements. At Llano High School we added a direct digital control (DDC) system to the heat pumps that serve classrooms for improved occupant comfort and scheduling. The ability to schedule when the systems run significantly reduced electrical consumption. We added DDC at all other campus to ensure more efficient operation of electrical systems. We added or updated secure vestibules at all campuses to increase student safety.

For Llano Elementary School, the existing structure was demolished in phases and we designed MEP systems for the new building that replaced it, using low flow plumbing fixtures and adding cooling to the pre-existing gym. Throughout the demolition and construction process, we maintained utilities, including water, electrical, and technology, to portions of the existing building to support its continued occupancy. At Packsaddle Elementary, we added cooling to the existing gym. We also designed a new Maintenance and Transportation building, with a bus maintenance facility, workshop for maintenance and custodial staff, and related office space. For Llano Junior High we added a gym and a 2 story science wing addition with the same energy efficiency, occupant comfort and safety in mind.
