In 2013 voters approved $21.5 in school building bonds to renovate the facilities of Gonzales ISD. Bond projects designed by TSG Architects include converting an old HEB into a Pre-K/Kindergarten Center, adding a new eight classroom building, band hall, and expanding the cafeteria of the North Avenue Elementary School, as well as building a new High School Student Center.
David Post, Cleary Zimmermann’s Director of IT/Security provided structured cabling, audiovisual, and security design for these bond upgrades. For structured cabling we included several multi-data outlets in each room and wireless access points to increase internet accessibility for both students and teachers. We added intercom call buttons, ceiling mounted speakers, audiovisual inputs, and ceiling mounted projectors to all of the classrooms to facilitate more visual learning and better campus wide communication. Security systems include surveillance using interior and exterior cameras, intrusion detection, and an access control system.
