The Alamodome is one of San Antonio’s premier sports and entertainment venues, located directly east of downtown’s central business district. Its flexible configurations can host concerts, trade shows, and sporting events including basketball, football, hockey, and soccer games. In an attempt to attract future NCAA Championships and other high profile national sporting events, the City approved renovations to modernize the Alamodome.
Cleary Zimmermann acted in a coordinating and oversight role for all aspects of MEP design, while our team provided mechanical and plumbing design services using building information modeling (BIM). Renovated areas include a 24,000 SF North Plaza Expansion, a 55,000 SF concourse expansion, and an 8,000 SF loading dock expansion. The renovations will offer increased comfort for both athletes and spectators with renovated locker rooms, club level renovations and the creation of 14 new suites. These renovations continue a tradition of Cleary Zimmermann work on the Alamdome, including Suite Finish-Outs, UTSA Football Locker Rooms, and an Electrical Coordination study.
